Maureen Ryan’s preferred practice areas are business, corporate, real estate, wills and estates, immigration and uncontested divorces.

Maureen’s significant corporate and business law experience makes her a trusted counsel advisor to her business clients. She advises entrepreneurs on business formation and companies on corporate governance and directorship issues. Her work also involves incorporations, family trusts, business contracts, amalgamations, acquisitions, sales, secured financing transactions and shareholder and partnership negotiations and agreements.

In her residential and commercial real estate practice, Maureen assists buyers and sellers, borrowers and lenders, landlords and tenants, banks and their customers and contractors and subcontractors in the full spectrum of personal and commercial real estate transactions. Such work includes purchases, sales, mortgage transactions, residential title migrations, office and retail leases and issues, easement and access agreements and construction contracts.

Maureen helps individuals with elder law issues and with their estate planning. She is experienced in drafting wills, powers of attorney and personal care directives and in the formation of trusts. She enjoys counselling executors and trustees on estate and trust administration. Maureen also advises her business clients on small business succession plans to achieve the transfer of businesses and assets to the next generation.

Maureen provides a range of immigration and citizenship law services, including family sponsorship (spouses; dependent children; parents; and same sex, common law and conjugal partners), temporary work permits for foreign workers and their employers, student and visitor permits, business immigration (investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals), permanent resident applications and issues (renewals, interview preparation and more), citizenship (applications, interview preparation and assessments of qualification), skilled workers (Canadian Experience Class and others) and applications to the provincial Nominee Programs (in all categories).
